Passion Fashion and Design

We produce sandals from animal skins and old car tires, reducing waste pollution.

Passion Fashion and Design focuses on addressing waste pollution, particularly in Tongogara refugee camp, where improper garbage disposal practices contribute to air and waste pollution, posing severe threats to public health and the environment. To combat this issue, the enterprise produces sandals from animal skins and old car tires, along with leather goods such as belts and bags, reducing waste pollution and providing sustainable alternatives. We also promote sustainable bin disposal and collect plastic waste materials to transform them into high-quality goods or sell them to recycling companies. By utilizing combined materials of animal skins and old car tires, we create durable products while contributing to environmental conservation and promoting a cleaner environment.

According to the World Health Organisation, waste pollution kills 6.7 million people annually, with 3.2 million people killed by household waste pollution. In Tongogara refugee camp, practices result in improper garbage disposal, including animal skins, old car tires, and plastic waste materials. This reckless waste management contributes to air and waste pollution, exacerbating climate change and posing a severe threat to public health. The consequences are dire toxic gases released from burning waste contaminate the atmosphere, leading to acid rain, global warming, and endanger wildlife, and the worst case scenario is death.

We produce sandals from animal skins and old car tires, reducing waste pollution. Additionally, we produce leather goods like belts, wallets, clothing, and bags from animal skins by-products. In our community, we are focused on providing them with Sustainable bin disposal. We also collect plastic waste materials and transform them into high-quality, demanding goods such as chairs, plates, tables, spoons, cups, bins, etc., or sell plastic waste to recycling companies. By doing so, we are combating air and waste pollution, preventing disease outbreaks, and promoting a cleaner environment.

Our products are made from two combined materials: animal skins and old car tires. The animal skins or leather provide comfort and durability, while the old car tires form sturdy soles. We cut the animal skins or leather to form the upper part of the sandals, and the old car tires are cut, trimmed, and made into the soles, providing excellent traction and longevity. Using those materials contributes to environmental conservation; these sandals reduce waste and give new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills; our products are sustainable and creative.
