RAF supports pregnant and lactating mothers in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement by offering affordable nutrient-rich baked products like mandazi and provide mentorship through Mother-
to-Mother Support Circles to improve maternal and family health.
In Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, nearly half (48.8%) of women, including pregnant and lactating mothers, suffer from anemia, while 44% of children under five experience chronic malnutrition. This results in increased fatigue, higher obstetric risks, and reduced caregiving capacity, severely affecting both maternal and child health in the settlement.
