AYILA

AYILA Insect Repellents is a social enterprise that empowers farmers with reliable markets and produces natural insect-repellent detergents to improve hygiene in restaurants.

AYILA Insect Repellents is a social enterprise that connects smallholder farmers with the restaurant industry through the production of natural, insect-repellent cleaning products.

At its core, the enterprise does two things at once. First, it supports rural farmers in Mityana by giving them training in sustainable agriculture and a reliable market for their crops—especially those used to produce carrier oils. This helps farmers earn more stable and fair incomes. Second, AYILA uses those same crops to manufacture eco-friendly detergents infused with natural ingredients like peppermint and lemon.

These detergents are then sold to restaurants, where they serve a dual purpose: cleaning surfaces effectively while also repelling pests such as flies and cockroaches for several hours. This helps restaurants maintain better hygiene, reduce health risks, and improve customer satisfaction.
