Maripat is a circular agribusiness enterprise based in Mpigi District, Uganda, focused on adding value to locally grown fruits. The enterprise sources fresh produce from smallholder farmers and processes it into natural, additive-free juice to reduce post-harvest losses and increase farmer incomes. To minimize waste, fruit by-products from production are converted into vermicompost using worms, creating nutrient-rich organic fertilizer. Through this model, Maripat addresses low market access, poor nutrition, and environmental degradation while promoting sustainable agriculture and community well-being.
