SINA member recognized as “Westerwelle Founder of the Year” 2023 in Berlin

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Catherine Nakayemba for her remarkable achievement as the Westerwelle Founder of the Year!

She grew up in the Kankobe orphanage in Uganda and was supported by Jangu e.V. throughout high school and joined SINA afterwards. Where she unleashed her potentials. As a child, Catherine faced the challenge of lacking access to safe and hygienic menstrual products, as well as knowledge about menstruation when she experienced it for the first time.

During the Young Founders Conference in Berlin, Catherine’s personal journey touched the attendees’ hearts, including politicians, investors, mentors, and other supporters. Through SAFE GIRL, the business side of the Gejja Women Foundation which was born in SINA, Catherine is breaking the menstrual taboo by providing safe and affordable sanitary products for girls and women, along with valuable information about menstruation.

The recognition comes with a 5,000 EUR cash prize. Congratulations!
