The Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement in Uganda is home to about 80,000 refugees, out of which about 60 are currently unleashing their potentials and working towards social enterprise solutions to turn challenges into opportunities.
Through the support of the Redsalt Foundation and Groundbreaker a new session space with toilets and a smaller computer room was constructed by the SINA enterprise Justev Building Systems, using interlocking stabilized soil bricks for an environmentally friendly building without having to burn bricks and contribute to deforestation. Our SINA Community called Youth Innovation Hub (YINNOH) hosted a week-long social enterprise bootcamp with 14 upcoming enterprises from SINA Communities from Uganda and the DRC which ended in a pitch competition with all major stakeholders and the official inauguration of the building. It was a great success and we wish to thank everyone involved!
