SINA Loketa is located in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, which is one of the largest refugee camps in the world, with currently about 270,000 people from South Sudan trying to find a new home. Jobs or educational opportunities are almost non-existent. The founders Mawa and Sylvain are refugees themselves and went through SINA Mpigi and decided to take the Model into Bidibidi to unleash the potentials of refugees for their own solutions in the form of social enterprises. SINA Loketa has been accepted as an official development partner in the camp and is taking part in the regular stakeholder meetings, bringing in the refugees’ perspective.

ECODESIGNS: Upcycling old aid tarpaulins into bags in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement
Loketa Agrofarm: Adding value to available agricultural raw materials through processing pure edible organic cooking oils that contain natural vitamins E, B, minerals, and proteins, which are free from chemicals added, while increasing the income of refugees.
Afia Porridge: Tackling malnutrition in refugee camps through locally produced mushroom based porridge.
