Chekanabo

Chekanabo has developed a hatchery business that provides vital services such as the supply of chicks, brooding services, and sales of brooders to the local refugee community and neighboring host communities. This enterprise focuses on egg incubation while also offering animal feeds and vaccines, aiming to reduce the high mortality rate of chicks caused by the long distances involved in transporting them from Harare to the refugee camp and surrounding areas. By doing so, the business not only addresses a significant logistical challenge but also strengthens the social fabric of the refugee community by creating local access to essential agricultural resources and fostering economic self-sufficiency and food security.
