Four years ago around Easter we bought land for our first Social Innovation Academy (SINA) to start in Mpigi, Uganda. At the end of 2016 a team of SINA scholars starting implementing the SINA Model in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement as OPPORTUNIGEE. We are pleased to announce that this Easter, we have been starting a SINA in the worlds largest refugee camp (Bidi Bidi) in northern Uganda, where currently close to 300,000 South Sudanese refugees live.
Constructions have started thanks to the support of One Light Global and regular sessions with the first scholars have started. The camp administration has been also very supportive and is keen on seeing the SINA model being applied in the camp for the refugees to be able to create their own solutions and improve the living conditions in the camp through social entrepreneurship.
