Our Village is connected to the Social Innovation Academy (SINA). The unique organization educates marginalized young people to become social entrepreneurs and start their own social enterprises. Did you know that Uganda has the youngest population in the world? And even if they get an education, they usually can‘t find jobs because there aren’t any. That’s where SINA comes in and helps to create these jobs.
Our entire income from the Village is dedicated to their education. Amazing, right? The Obama Foundation thinks so too and has awarded one of the enterprises that emerged out of SINA for their business model. But not only the Obama Foundation likes the concepts the graduates of SINA come up with. SINA also partnered with the Office of the Prime Minister of Uganda, the Global Social Entrepreneurship Network and the Global Business Coalition for Education.
