I grew up in Germany, studied in the Netherlands, and started working in consulting afterwards in Berlin. Life seemed pretty straight forward. I felt like following a path that is laid out in front of me.
I came to SINA in 2019 as part of my sabbatical. Two months in, Etienne Salborn approached me if I would want to join in setting up a new organization to support the professionalization and scaling of SINA (now SINA Global). Within 24 hours, I quit my job, my apartment, and my life in Berlin. I left many comforts and gained much happiness. SINA is an exceptional place, where we are all the same and yet so different. We eat the same, sleep the same, and are allowed to be who we are.
I want to create a world that favors all of us, independent from nationality, location, gender, age, family, tribe, etc. With SINA, I believe we are coming a step closer to fulfill this vision every day. Waking up every morning at sunset, cycling through the Ugandan hills, makes me realize that together we are a movement creating a new system that makes the old one obsolete.
