I was born as a child of two school-going children, growing up feeling unwanted and unloved. With 21, I gave birth to my own daughter. Being unmarried, I was chased away from home.
I found a new family at SINA, which supports me in becoming a better version of myself every day. I have learned to see the power I have and turn it into action to create, nurture, and transform the world I want to see.
I’m passionate about supporting women and girls. At SINA, I realized that many girls and young women, single mothers, and widows had made similar experiences as I did in my childhood. I was inspired to found Gejja Women Foundation. GEJJA creates awareness about the vulnerable situation of women in society and enables them to live economically independent, self-determined, and aware of their rights to make their own decisions. My biggest dream is to see women taking the lead to shape the economy in Uganda. Women need to be able to open up, share and to believe in themselves to create change.
