“Silence is a dangerous companion when it’s the only refuge for victims of sexual abuse. At eight years old, I found myself – silenced by a crime committed against me. Orphaned and afraid, I questioned, “Why me?”
The world seemed deaf to my cries, intensifying the mental battles that raged within me. Trapped, I was a lone soldier on a battlefield until help came, and I realized I wasn’t alone.
I regained my voice, my sense of self reborn—sparking the creation of the ‘Totya Platform’.”
Totya Platform aims to support survivors of sexual violence, breaking the chains of silence that so often shackles victims.
The approach is three-fold; prevention, restoration, and justice.
Firstly, They aim to educate communities about the harmful impacts of sexual violence. They visit schools and engage with communities, promoting understanding and raising awareness.
Next, the focus is on restoration. The scars of sexual assault run deep, but they can heal. Online coaching and counselling are integral to this stage, offering those affected emotional support and coping strategies.
Finally, justice is pursued. Assistance is offered throughout police proceedings to ensure survivors are supported every step of the way.
Together, we can break the silence. We can heal. We can seek justice.
