Afia produces a nutritious porridge in the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement in Uganda (one of the largest in the world) and offers affordable. The porridge is rich in proteins, minerals and vitamins to boost the health of children to fight malnutrition and Anemia. One key ingredient are mushrooms, which are locally procured from refugee women, who are also trained on how to grow them for increased income.
Afia is born out of our SINA Loketa Community in Bidibidi and is also the 2020 winner of the Social Impact Award Uganda.
