Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, I was always fascinated by business and economics. I was intrigued by the way that economics could shape the world we live in and how businesses play a vital role in economic growth. As I finished my high school studies, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in this field, and the Netherlands seemed like the perfect place to further my studies.
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to study economics and business economics, and I soon realized that my interests lay in emerging markets. These markets are characterized by rapid economic growth, and they offer a wealth of opportunities to businesses that are willing to take risks and innovate.
Studying economics and business economics with a specialization in emerging markets has been an eye-opening experience. I have learned about the challenges and opportunities that businesses face when operating in these markets, and I have developed a keen interest in helping these businesses succeed.
To complete my Bachelor’s degree, I am required to complete an internship in an emerging market. After extensive research, I came across SINA, an organization that is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs in emerging markets. From the moment I read about SINA, I knew that this organization aligns with my vision for the future.
